The little things and the Widelux
It's those damn little things that you don't pay attention to,...
Silly feelings, non-sensical gut moves that you decide to listen to for some unknown reason.
They line up when you're busy planning,...
And if you're not careful,...
They'll dump you into the most amazing of situations,... situations you couldn't possibly have planned for yourself.
"A watch,... that would be an appropriate gift to mark the occasion" I said to myself while my birthday money burned a hole in my pants.
That would have been the adult thing to do.
So what did I do?
I bought a camera of course.
It wasn't sensible,... it's probably the silliest camera I could pick,... but do bear with me, there is a sensible-ish point to this,... but it's not quite cooked yet so I'm going to buy some time telling you about the new camera.
Widelux F7, 26mm swing lens panoramic,...
only 3 shutter speeds,... 1/15, 1/125, 1/250,...
f2.8 to f11,... yup no f16,...
fixed focus at infinity, so scale focus,...
and a wildly inaccurate viewfinder that doesn't even get close to what you get.
So this silliness.
Crap, it's "sensible-ish point" time,... something about limitations and artyfarty-ness and letting go maybe?
Yeah, that's all I got....
My last silly purchase, my bronica 135w panoramic back, brought Rabbit into my life,...
Maybe this year's silliness will lead to something just as epic.
And if it doesn't who cares,... it is seriously ridiculously fun to shoot :D
(I sent it off for a CLA so it'll be a while before anything gets upped.)
