first go at pushing Fujifilm Acros 100 in Microfine.

first go at Microfine actually.

the back of the packet says 10 minutes at 20C.

microfine is a standard developer so following the recommendations on digitaltruth for pushing you have to multiply the time by 4.5 for a 3 stop push.

that came to 45 minutes.

thankfully Japanese summers can push temperatures up to 30C inside so i didn't actually spend 45 minutes turning a bloody tank.

fuji acros can be clinically clean shot at box speed,... you'd be forgiven for thinking that it was a digital shot. pushing it however brings the grain out some what.

the blacks do block up quickly so you get pretty damn contrasty negatives,... the greys fall to black quite quickly so watch what it is you're metering.

I'm surprised how well they turned out.

deciding to make the Widelux my everyday carry has had me looking for 400ISO films so that smaller apertures can be used for closer focus so this little test makes my life a little bit easier as Acros is readily available on the high streets here in japan.

it does have me torn though,... i had just about made up my mind to shoot mostly colour going forward,... Acros 100 at 800 was meant to be a silly test that was meant to confirm that it didn't work well at all.

things going well can be a major pain in the ass... i might just need a second Widelux.
